Match report: Liverpool 3-0 Arsenal U-23s

Our under-23s' fine form in the Premier League 2 came to a halt on Saturday as they were beaten 3-0 at Liverpool.

Kevin Betsy's side were forced on to the back foot at Anfield and came close to falling a goal down when Mateusz Musialowski curled one just wide of the far post.

But we soon carved out a chance at the other end when Salah Oulad M'Hand beat two men on the edge of the area before a firing a shot at goal that was held by Reds keeper Harvey Davies.

Omari Hutchinson then came close to the opener when he was knocked over the box, before quickly rising to his feet and flashing in a shot that Davies did well to palm away. From the loose ball, the dangerous Salah cut in from the left and unleashed a goalbound shot only for the goalkeeper to deny us again.

Arthur Okonkwo had to be alert to tip a Tyler Morton effort around the post before half time, but after the interval the hosts took over.

We fell behind before the hour mark when Musialowski raced through and finished well with his left foot, and things went from bad to worse just four minutes later when Paul Glatzel poked the ball past Okonkwo.

James Norris wrapped things up for the home side when he raced through on goal, condemning us to a disappointing defeat.
