WHAT HAPPENED
Our under-23s extended their unbeaten run to six Premier League 2 games with a 1-1 draw against Tottenham Hotspur.
Jonathan Dinzeyi started at the heart of our defence against his former club, who currently top of the table, while Charlie Patino was handed his under-23s debut.
Heading into this fixture on the back of five consecutive victories, Steve Bould’s side were full of confidence and raced into an early lead with a quickly taken free-kick.
The ball dropped to Ben Cottrell inside the penalty area and he made no mistake in finding the bottom corner. The 19-year-old has now scored four goals in just 13 PL2 appearances.
But the hosts wrestled back control on the half-hour mark, and after Kion Etete headed wide from a promising position, he levelled the score with his next chance, finishing on the stretch to poke the ball past Karl Hein.
Their dominance continued following the break too, as Dane Scarlett won a penalty after drawing a foul from Tim Akinola - but his powerful strike sailed well over the bar.
We would go on to create one last chance to seal all three points, but Folarin Balogun was denied by Joshua Oluwayemi after racing through on goal.
