WHAT HAPPENED

We came from a goal down to take a well-earned point away from City Football Academy as Nathan Tormey netted his third goal of the season.

Chances were few and far between in the opening exchanges but the hosts came close when Adrian Bernabe’s ball across the face of goal somehow evaded any Man City player before Matt Smith cleared.

Folarin Balogun had our first chance of the afternoon when he raced through on goal, rounded Gavin Bazunu but saw his shot from a tight angle come back off the post.

With just over 15 minutes remaining of the first half, Balogun came close again when he turned and shot from the edge of the box, forcing Bazunu to make a smart save.

Arguably against the run of play, City were ahead when a ball over the top of our backline found Ian Carlo Poveda-Ocampo who struck low past Karl Hein from close range.

Three minutes later we were level when Balogun saw his initial header from a corner saved superbly before Tormey raced in and poked home the rebound.

Hein kept the scores level on the stroke of half-time when Rogers ran through on goal but was denied by the feet of our ‘keeper from close range.

City started the second half brightly and were denied by the feet of Hein again after Poveda-Ocampo drove into the box and let fly at goal.

Ben Cottrell would have given us the lead had it not been for a fine save from Bazunu after our youngster had found space and struck a well hit effort at goal.

Balogun almost grabbed the lead when he caught Bazunu trying to play out of the back but the deflection off our striker trickled wide.

Moments later, Rogers came close to re-taking the lead when his curling effort from the edge of the area smacked back off the post.

We almost grabbed all three points with minutes remaining when the ball broke to Cottrell inside the box but our midfielder fired over the bar from close range.

WHAT IT MEANS

We sit third in the Premier League 2 table above Everton, who have a game in hand.
