Our under-23s made it two wins from two with a 4-3 victory over Manchester City in an eventful game at Emirates Stadium.

Reiss Nelson struck twice with Eddie Nketiah also scoring a brace, while Matt Smith, Brahim Diaz and Lukas Nmecha were all on target for the visitors.

Both teams finished with 10 men after Jack Wilshere and Tyreke Wilson were dismissed for an altercation.

Steve Gatting was able to call upon first-team squad members Rob Holding, Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Wilshere for the Citizens’ visit to N5.

Matt Macey lined up in goal, behind a back three of Holding, Krystian Bielik and captain Julio Pleguezuelo.

Maitland-Niles and Josh Dasilva started in the wing-back roles, with Wilshere partnering Joe Willock in central midfield.

Nelson and Donyell Malen operated in behind frontman Nketiah.

The deadlock was broken after just 12 minutes with Nelson finishing a team move comprising 10 passes by darting inside and drilling a low effort into the net.

Just two minutes later, Nketiah added our second, slamming home from close range after smart work from Maitland-Niles.

Smith turned the ball home for the visitors to reduce our advantage, only for Nketiah and Wilshere to combine, with the former restoring our two-goal cushion.

Nelson scored twice in our 3-2 win over Derby County last week - and he repeated the feat by converting with a smart finish shortly after the break.

Wilson and Wilshere were then both given their marching orders for an altercation which followed a heavy tackle from the former.

Diaz pulled another goal back for the visitors, before Nmecha sent a penalty past Macey to set up a tense finale.
