Jack Wilshere's young side displayed remarkable resilience on Saturday morning, mounting an incredible comeback to secure a point away to West Brom after trailing by three goals.
A hat-trick from Dan Casey was pivotal in maintaining our unbeaten start to the season.
The match started unfavourably for us when a deflected ball off Ife Ibrahim unexpectedly found its way past Jack Talbot, giving West Brom the lead. Minutes later, the hosts doubled their advantage as we lost possession, allowing Dan Chimeziri to cut into the penalty area and slot the ball into the bottom corner—all within the first 15 minutes.
Ten minutes before half-time, the Baggies extended their lead to three with Divine Onyemachi tapping in from close range. However, we managed to claw our way back into the match just before the break, with Dan Casey calmly converting a penalty to keep us in contention.
After the restart, Casey continued his fine form, demonstrating his attacking prowess by maneuvering in the penalty area and finding the bottom corner to make it 3-2 and bring us within one goal.
With momentum on our side, we relentlessly pushed for the equaliser, which finally came when Casey completed his hat-trick. He found space in the box and finished with conviction, earning us a well-deserved point.
Our unbeaten run continues, and we now sit on seven points after three games.
We have a two-week break before returning to action at home against Southampton in the Under-18 Premier League on Saturday, 14th September.
Kick-off at the Sobha Realty Training Centre is at 12pm (UK time).
