WHAT HAPPENED

Despite Nathan Butler-Oyedeji's brace handing us a two-goal lead, we were denied all three points as Tottenham staged a late comeback on Saturday.

We started the match brightly as Alfie Matthews picked up the ball and played in Ryan Alebiosu, but his strike at goal was blocked.

Immediately after, the visitors created their first chance when J’Neil Bennett curled an effort just wide from the edge of the box.

Miguel Azeez was dictating the tempo in midfield and saw a well-taken volley from the edge of the box stopped by Thimothee Lo-Tutala.

Bennett looked dangerous for the visitors and would have put them ahead had it not have been for Matthew Dennis’ perfectly timed slide tackle.

The opening goal came on the stroke of half-time when Butler-Oyedeji collected the ball on the edge of the box, cut inside and curled a shot into the top corner.

Our number 11 grabbed his second of the match 15 minutes after the restart when Azeez whipped in a fine ball and he flicked home a header.

Tottenham replied when Bennett found enough space to fire a shot past Hubert Graczyk from long range to give them a lifeline.

With 15 minutes remaining, Azeez almost restored our two-goal advantage when he whipped a free-kick towards goal but Lo-Tutala made a good save to deny him.

We looked set to claim our third win of the season, but deep into injury time, the ball broke to Kion Etete who controlled well and fired past Graczyk from inside the box.

WHAT IT MEANS

We sit eighth in the U-18 Premier League South table above Leicester City, Reading and Swansea
