It's been a topic of discussion among fans for much of the season: What's our most likely route back to the Champions League, reaching the top four, or winning the Europa League?

Now into May, both avenues are still open to us, but one is no longer in our own hands. Following defeats in each of our past three league games, we are relying on slip ups from teams above us if we want to finish in the top four for the first time in three seasons.

Regardless of other teams' results though, we will take the fight to the final day of the season if we beat Brighton this Sunday, in our final home game of 2018/19.

Unai Emery's first season in charge will be fully assessed at its conclusion, but it's fair to say our record at Emirates Stadium under the Spaniard has been impressive.

The win over Valencia on Thursday was our 22nd at home this season, from 29 games, but the shock defeat to Palace two weeks ago is a sign that no opposition can be taken lightly at the Emirates, even if they are struggling at the wrong end of the table.

Brighton could come into this game still needing points to stay up – depending on Cardiff's result against Palace theprevious day – and Emery knows his own players will have to treat this as a must-win game too, despite the second leg of the Europa League semi-final looming large on the horizon.
