As has become tradition, Arsenal in the Community marked the end of the season by inviting a host of our programme participants to Emirates Stadium to emulate our first-team stars by playing on Arsenal’s home pitch.
Firstly our mobile phone partner Google Pixel generously donated pitch time for our Women & Girls’ programmes, which include initiatives such as Premier League Inspires, Premier League Primary Stars, Women’s Walking Football, Beginner’s Football sessions and Shape Up Sisters.
Next, more than 350 people from a variety of other programmes got their chance to enjoy this unforgettable experience. These programmes included Premier League Kicks, Arsenal Double Club, Deaf Girls Football, Amputee Football and our Parkinson’s and Prostate Cancer Walking Football groups. These sessions were supported by funding from the Premier League, PFA and Premier League Fans Fund.
We were also joined by the one and only Gunnersaurus, as well as Arsenal Academy players Josh Nicols and Romari Forde, who generously gave their time to meet participants, take part in sessions and show off their skills.
We think you can see from the gallery below that everyone involved – participants and staff alike – enjoyed the sessions. Same time next year!
