A composed ball-playing central defender, Julio spent the first half of 2017/18 playing at under-23 level, before enjoying a successful loan spell at Gimnastic in La Liga 2.
Julio played 90 minutes in each of his 10 appearances for the Spanish outfit, helping them to record five clean sheets and five wins along the way. The Spaniard also spent the entirety of the 2016/17 season on loan at Real Mallorca, where he made 15 appearances in La Liga 2.
A natural leader, Julio is now in his sixth season in London, making him an experienced member of the Gunners youth setup
