Arsène Wenger... wants to prepare well for Hull game
Wenger - We have to maintain our hunger
By Chris Harris
Arsène Wenger doesn’t mind if his team wins 5-0 or 1-0, provided they show the same hunger in every game.
Arsenal strolled into the Quarter-Finals of the Champions League on Tuesday after putting five goals past Porto at Emirates Stadium and they remain well in the hunt for the Premier League title after four straight wins in that competition.
Wenger admits that his players were lifted by the margin of their victory in midweek but he is more concerned that the squad maintains its spirit and industry between now and the end of the season.
“For me the most important thing was to qualify, if it was 5-0 or 1-0 it’s still exactly the same,” said the Frenchman.
“I believe we focused on the way we want to play football and the way we want to behave. As long as we respect that I believe we have a good chance to win our games.
“We will not feel down because we won 5-0, but we have as well to be realistic, keep our feet on the ground, make sure the hunger is there as we just talked about.
“In the Premier League every game is as dangerous as [it is in] Europe. We have to make sure we prepare well for Hull now.”
