Cesc Fabregas is delighted to see Manuel Almunia back in the first-team picture.
The Spanish goalkeeper spent four months on the sidelines following the West Brom game at Emirates Stadium in September after suffering injuries to his elbow and ankle. But Almunia was back between the posts for Sunday's FA Cup tie against Huddersfield.
The 33-year-old made a stunning save to keep the League One side at bay during the second half and dealt well with Huddersfield's aerial threat throughout Arsenal’s 2-1 win. Fabregas praised his compatriot when he spoke to the Official Matchday Programme.
"Manuel came back after a number of months out and that’s not easy in itself, but the difficulty is increased when you are having to come out and fight with big guys on long balls and set-pieces as he did on Sunday," said Fabregas.
"He did very well, in my opinion, and it is good for us that he looked sharp."
