White - We won't take title for granted

By Oliver Yew

Arsenal defender Faye White insists the team won’t be taking anything for granted as they look to secure the inaugural Women's Super League crown.

The Gunners battled back from a goal down to draw 1-1 with Birmingham on Sunday and Laura Harvey’s side know that three wins from their remaining three games will win them the title.

“We have already lost two games we should have won during the season so we won’t be taking anything for granted in the next few weeks,” White told Arsenal.com.

“But the title is in our own hands and that is all we could ask for going into the games against Doncaster, Everton and Liverpool.”

White, who was an unused substitute in the draw against the Blues, believes her team’s experience of winning trophies will be vital during the run-in.

“We have been in these situations before and it will certainly help us during the next three games,” she said.

“As a side we know we can stand up to the big occasions and our ability to stand up and be counted when the pressure is on helped us dig out a point against Birmingham.”
