Three months and three major domestic honours. Suzanne Grant has enjoyed quite a start to her Arsenal Ladies career.
The 25-year-old striker signed from Hibernian in February and quickly established herself as a potent threat in Vic Akers’ forward line.
Grant made her Arsenal debut off the bench in the Women’s League Cup Final on February 26, only six days after signing for the Club. Naturally, the Scotland international marked the occasion with a goal in her 13-minute cameo appearance.
And, after playing 62 minutes of Arsenal’s FA Women’s Cup Final victory earlier this month, Grant’s latest act in Arsenal colours was to slam home the winning goal in Sunday’s title-clinching clash against Everton.
And for Grant the Women’s Premier League crown was the icing on the cake.
"It's great to win the league in any competition,” the striker said. “But to do so in what is not even my first full season with Arsenal is amazing.
"It was absolutely amazing [to score the winning goal], but everybody worked hard for the team. It wasn't the prettiest of games but we've done our job and won the league, so I'm delighted.
“We defend from front to back but the two central defenders were outstanding - we defended really well and that won us the game.
"For my goal I just remember that the ball dropped to me, I took a touch and it hit the back of the net - it was a great moment.”
