Ciara Grant believes the new Women’s Super League will improve the standard of the women’s game in England.
Arsenal have dominated the domestic scene in recent years and have been crowned Premier League champions an incredible seven times in succession.
But with the introduction of a new eight-team format, Grant expects a much tougher test this season.
“I think it is going to be more competitive,” she told Arsenal.com “Some clubs have made some big signings and every game is going to be a lot harder this year.
“Hopefully it will get people watching the games and seeing the standard of women’s football. There are a lot of people who have never watched a women’s game before and when they do they really enjoy it.
“Hopefully it will make women’s football a lot bigger in this country.”
