The British Judo Association (BJA) is the National Governing Body for the Olympic sport of judo in Britain. Judo has been an Olympic sport since 1964, in the last Games in Beijing 206 different Nations, competing for one of the 56 medals available, making it one of the most widely represented sports in the world!

Judo training is an ideal form of physical exercise and it serves as a great cardiovascular workout, which improves stamina, general health and overall fitness. Physical co-ordination can be seen to develop dramatically from participation. Discipline along with core-stability and learning to manage physical contact are also achieved.

Confidence and self-esteem are enhanced as a player progresses through the ranks and the very nature of the award system ensures that the next goal is always realistic and achievable with effort.

Arsenal Premier League 4 Sport Judo is currently running in 2 satellite clubs. Below are the dates and times of each session:

Wednesdays - Cardinal Pole Lower Site, Victoria Park - 3.30-5.00pm

Fridays – London Met University, Islington – 6.00-7.30pm

As a result of the success of Arsenal's Judo programme, and having a lack of BJA affiliated Judo clubs locally, we have established the first of our new community clubs. The Capital London Judo Club started in Sept 2010 at Cardinal Pole School, Hackney, and already has over 30 members. For more information on Capital London JC, please see their website on www.capitallondonjudo.com or call Gabs on 07814 556 707 / gabor.szanyinagy@britishjudo.org.uk.
