Badminton is an Olympic sport and as well as being a major sport across the globe, it is the most popular racket sport in England and therefore not surprising that it is the sixth largest participation sport. There is no contest as it takes top spot as the fastest racket sport out there, with the top professionals regularly hitting smashes in excess of 200 mph.

The beauty of badminton is that a great deal of enjoyment can be gained at all levels of the sport as well. This is because it is possible to learn how to rally successfully with just a small amount of instruction or simply just “having a go”. All you need is a friend, a racket, a shuttlecock, a pair of trainers and somewhere to play and you are ready to “have a go”. It is not expensive, but it is enjoyable, you can socialise with your friends, be competitive if you choose, learn a new skill and keep fit and healthy all at the same time!
