The World on our Doorstep project celebrates the diverse cultures and range of nationalities in London. The project has been running since 2006 and is now a permanent fixture in our calendar. The project follows Arsenal in the Communities successful Double Club model which combines education resources with football.

Thanks to Premier League funding Arsenal in the Community have produced an education project within National Curriculum guide lines, free of charge, which delivers geography and citizenship material to pupils in 30 primary schools in north London.

Arsenal is an extremely diverse football club which we believe is an accurate reflection of London's communities. We feel that it is appropriate for the club to both celebrate and explore the important issues associated with diversity in the local community and believe the fact that such a significant number of our players originate from all over the world makes this both a relevant and worthwhile scheme.

The project involves three parts (all delivered by Arsenal in the Community staff):

  • a classroom presentation (1 hour)

  • an Arsenal football coaching session

  • a trip to Emirates stadium for a quiz and tour
