Undoubtedly one of the most-improved youngsters last term, left-back Thomas continued to star for the Under-18s and enjoyed a prolonged spell in the Reserves after Kieran Gibbs’ promotion to the first team.
With great work-rate, strength and clinical distribution, the 18-year-old defender has all the required attributes of a modern-day full-back. Although he has featured at centre-back for the Academy, Tom played every minute of Arsenal’s Youth Cup campaign on the left of the defence during his first season as a professional.
The likeable youngster will no doubt have his eye on a place in Arsène Wenger’s Carling Cup squad this season.
