WENGER'S VERDICT
England will be happy with their group, in fact they will be very happy with that group.
"Having said that, the most threatening game is always the opening game and that’s England’s toughest match – against America.
"So they will still have to be a little bit cautious there. I have seen that happen to France in the past. In Japan they played Senegal in the first game and lost. Then that puts you under massive pressure.
"If you lose the first match you know that you must win the next one. I still believe though that England will have too much for the rest of that group.
“I hoped that Sol Campbell would get in the England squad, because he has been great since coming into our team, but I was not optimistic he would make it because there are some good young players in his position in this country at the moment, so there was a lot of competition. ![]()
