Uruguay 0-0 France, Group A
Friday, May 11
Green Point Stadium, Cape Town
Abou Diaby, William Gallas and Bacary Sagna all started for France as Les Bleus played out a 0-0 draw with Uruguay on Friday. Left-back Gael Clichy did not feature in the match.
The result leaves all four Group A teams on one point after Mexico drew 1-1 with South Africa earlier in the day.
France were given late hope of a victory when Uruguay substitute Nicolas Lodeiro was dismissed after receiving a second booking for a foul on Sagna in the 81st minute.
But Raymond Domench's side were unable to find a breakthrough and the game ended goalless.
France's next match is against Mexico on Thursday.
