Liam Brady's new role as Republic of Ireland No 2 will not affect his position at Arsenal, according to Arsène Wenger.
The 52-year-old is set to combine his job as Head of Youth Development with the task of assistant manager to Giovanni Trapattoni in the new Lansdowne Road set-up. Speaking to TV Online on Thursday, the Arsenal manager gave the move his blessing.
"I believe it is good news for Liam because he gets an eye on international football," said Wenger. "He'll get good experience with Trapattoni who is a guy he knows well from Italy.
"It will not stop him doing his job here because he is not on the pitches. It is more of a decisional job than an organisational job at the Academy. He works with David Court and Steve Bould so his role will stay the same."Copyright 2016 The Arsenal Football Club plc.
