Young forward Jay Simpson has extended his loan period with
League One side Millwall until the end of the 2007/08 season.
Simpson, 19, who initially joined Millwall on loan at the end of
August, made Club history by becoming the first player to score a
hat-trick at Emirates Stadium when he captained the Under-18s to an
FA Youth Cup Quarter-Final victory over Cardiff City last season.
Simpson joined Arsenal as a scholar in the summer of 2005 and
signed professional terms with the Club in summer 2007,
making his Under-18s debut aged just 13. He also went on to become
the Club's top scorer in the FA Youth Cup last season with five
goals, helping the team to the Semi-Finals. Jay was also a regular
in the Reserves last season, scoring twice from his 16
appearances.
On the final day of last season, Simpson was an unused
substitute for the first team, which travelled to Portsmouth in the
Premier League.
Everyone at Arsenal wishes Jay the best of luck with Millwall for
the rest of the season.
