Young German defender Leander Siemann has signed professional terms with the Club.
Siemann, who turned 17 last week, joined Arsenal last year from Hertha Berlin after a successful trial period at London Colney.
Although predominantly a centre-back, the technically-accomplished youngster has shown his versatility for the under-18s this season, where he has featured regularly at right back.
His good form at academy level earned a first outing for Terry Burton’s under-21s on Monday night, when he was an assured second-half substitute in the 0-0 draw with Blackburn Rovers.
Everyone at Arsenal would like to congratulate Leander on his first professional contract and we look forward to his continued progression with the Club.Copyright 2013 The Arsenal Football Club plc.
