Reserve team goalkeeper Sean McDermott has joined Championship side Leeds United on a one-month loan deal.

A strong keeper with good reflexes, Sean has made two substitute appearances for the Reserves this season, following an impressive debut last season against Newcastle in which he put in an assured performances between the posts, denying Shefki Kuqi from the penalty spot.

The 18-year old stopper, who joined Arsenal as a scholar in the summer of 2009, has made ten appearances for Steve Bould’s Under-18 side this term and travelled to the Dallas Cup in 2011, helping Arsenal reach the semi-finals.

Although Norwegian-born, Sean is a current Republic of Ireland Under-19 international.

Everyone at Arsenal wishes Sean the best of luck during his time with Neil Warnock’s side.
