On the performance against Norwich…
“Emmanuel Frimpong had a shot early on and it has deflected in. We then scored right at the end when Amaury Bischoff hit one from the edge of the box with his left foot. There was some good stuff and overall it was a good evening. Obviously the result was disappointing but looking at the bigger picture there were some good displays.

“Fran Merida and Rui Fonte got selected for the Under-21s while Gavin Hoyte, Henri Lansbury and Rhys Murphy were all away with the England Under-19s that played against Germany. With them away with their countries it was chance to have a look at some of the ones on the fringe. I spoke to Steve Bould before the game and with the FA Youth Cup coming up it was an opportunity to maybe get some partnerships working together.”

On the friendly arrangement…
“We got an e-mail through from Norwich telling us their available dates and looking at our fixture list we had a big period of no games after our last reserve outing. We took it up just to give our boys a run out to keep their game consistency going. It just gives those lads who aren’t playing on a Saturday vital games.

“We might look to get some more [friendly games]. If we can, we might try and play another game between December 1 and our next reserve game on December 16 against Portsmouth at home. But we have got the Carling Cup against Burnley which will come in between those.

On playing in front of over 7,000 at Carrow Road…
“When we used to play them in the Reserve League it was like that. They have good supporters down at Norwich. It is nice for them to play in front of a bit of a crowd. It's a nice stadium and there were a lot of people there so I think they enjoyed it.

“I think the Carling Cup is a big element without a doubt. Arsenal have a lot of supporters in that part of the country as well. I think it is a combination of the publicity we have had after the Carling Cup and people wanting to come and support the Arsenal youngsters.”

On another glittering Carling Cup performance last week…
“They did really, really well against Wigan and they passed another test. Looking at the next one at Burnley, it is another challenge playing away and it will be a tough hard fixture but I am sure they will come out as victors.”
