Arsenal Football Club can confirm that Oguzhan Ozyakup has completed a move to Turkish side Besiktas for an undisclosed fee.

The 19-year-old midfielder represented the Gunners twice at senior level, making substitute appearances in the Carling Cup victories over Shrewsbury Town and Bolton Wanderers last season.

Ozyakup, who joined the Gunners from AZ Alkmaar in September 2008, helped the Under-18s to a league and cup double in his first season before going on to play a key role in a second FA Premier Academy League title the following year.

He later became a mainstay of the reserves, for whom he played 41 times in total and scored six times.

Ozyakup made the decision to represent Turkey at international level this year, but as a youth player captained the Netherlands Under-16 side and helped the Under-17s to a European Cup Final in 2009.

Everyone at Arsenal would like to thank Oguzhan for his contribution to the Club and wish him well for his future career.
