Every season a number of Arsenal players go out on loan to gain valuable first-team experience. The 2010/11 campaign is no different and eight young Gunners have already linked up with their loan clubs.
The international break meant a number of leagues around England and Europe didn't have scheduled fixtures this weekend, though two young Gunners were in action with their clubs.
Pedro Botelho
Cartagena 0-1 Elche
Saturday, September 4
Pedro Botelho played the full 90 minutes but was unable to prevent Cartagena losing 1-0 at home to Elche. In a tight match, Miguel Linares Cólera scored the only goal of the game in the 88th minute to leave Botelho’s Cartagena with a win and a loss after two games of the season.
Luke Freeman
Notts County 4-0 Yeovil Town
Saturday, September 4
Luke Freeman played 77 minutes before being substituted as Yeovil Town suffered a heavy 4-0 defeat at Notts County on Saturday. In a one-sided match at Meadow Lane, Terry Skiverton’s men had no answer to County as they dropped into the relegation zone. A double from Ben Davies and goals from Craig Westcarr and Lee Hughes gave Craig Short’s side a comfortable win.
Samuel Galindo
Tenerife 1-2 Salamanca
Sunday, September 5
Samuel Galindo, the young Bolivian midfielder who joined the Club over the summer, did not feature for his new loan side Salamanca as they beat Tenerife 2-1 on Sunday night. Kike Lopez scored the winner two minutes into injury time as Salamanca came from behind to record their first win of the new season. Galindo has joined the Segunda Division club for the duration of the season.
