Every season a number of Arsenal players go out on loan to gain valuable first-team experience.
The 2010/11 campaign is no different and sixteen young Gunners have already linked up with their loan clubs.

Jay Emmanuel-Thomas

Jay Emmanuel-Thomas made an impressive debut for Cardiff City as they beat Watford 4-2 on Saturday. The young midfielder played the full 90 minutes and instantly endeared himself to the home fans with his willingness to attack the Watford back-line. Emmanuel-Thomas went close to scoring early on when his long-range effort whistled inches wide of the post. However, he did have a hand in putting the Bluebirds 3-0 up on 31 minutes. The 20-year-old was involved in the build-up on the right before Peter Whittingham found former Gunner Jay Bothroyd, who finished well. The win moves Cardiff to second in the Championship. Emmanuel-Thomas is on loan at the Welsh club until the end of the season.


Sanchez Watt
Portsmouth 2-2 Leeds United

Sanchez Watt played 62 minutes for Leeds as they drew 2-2 with Portsmouth on Saturday. With the Yorkshire side 2-1 down, the young forward was replaced by David Somma who equalised with his very first touch just a minute later. Leeds remain fifth in the Championship.

Kyle Bartley played the full 90 minutes for Sheffield United as they went down 2-1 at home to Norwich on Saturday. Andrew Crofts scored twice in the second half to leave the Blades just one point above the Championship relegation zone.

Mark Randall played the full 90 minutes for Rotherham as they lost 1-0 at Wycombe on Saturday. Gareth Ainsworth scored the only goal of the game after 28 minutes to leave Ronnie Moore’s side third in the League Two.

Francis Coquelin played 120 minutes for Lorient as they beat Fontenay 1-0 after extra time on Saturday. Mathias Autret scored in the 116th minute to give the Arsenal loanee’s side victory in the French Cup.

Pedro Botelho played the full 90 minutes for Cartagena as they suffered a 4-0 defeat against Celta Vigo on Saturday. The loss leaves Cartagena fifth in the Spanish Segunda Division.
