Jack Wilshere made his full England debut and helped the Three Lions to a 2-1 victory over Denmark on Wednesday. The 19-year-old caught the eye playing just in front of the back four, the position he has made his own for Arsenal, before being withdrawn at half time. Theo Walcott played 67 minutes and was instrumental in getting England back on level terms after they had gone a goal down to Daniel Agger’s header. The winger did brilliantly to beat his man on the right before putting the ball on a plate for Darren Bent to tap in from a yard. Ashley Young scored a second-half winner for Fabio Capello’s side.

The Arsenal midfielder made it 2-2 in first-half injury time when, first time from just inside the area, he fired home from Milan Petrzela’s cutback. Rosicky was replaced after 63 minutes with Michal Bílek’s side 3-2 down. Former Gunner Eduardo was on the scoresheet for Croatia.

Karim Benzema scored the only goal of the game nine minutes into the second half to give Laurent Blanc’s side victory.
