England Youth International midfielder Henri Lansbury has today joined Championship side Watford on loan.
Gifted teenager Henri was another member of Arsenal’s Academy to gain valuable first-team experience on loan last season. After impressing in the Under-18s and Reserves at the start of 2008/09, the tenacious midfielder moved north to spend three months at Scunthorpe United.
In total, Henri scored five goals in 17 appearances for ‘The Iron’, including a start in their Johnstone’s Paint Trophy Final defeat at Wembley Stadium. However, silverware did not elude Henri last season; upon his return he started for Steve Bould’s Under-18s in their victorious FA Youth Cup and Academy League Finals.
Lansbury (18) also played an integral part in England Under-19s impressive performances during this summer’s UEFA European U19 Championships, where the young national side reached the last two of the tournament, only losing to hosts Ukraine in the Final.
Henri will stay with Malky Mackay’s side until 31st December 2009.
Everyone at Arsenal Football Club wishes Henri the best of luck during his time with Watford.
