Thomas Cruise scored a crucial goal for England Under-19s as they beat Austria in their opening match at the UEFA Championships.
 
A first-half brace from Frank Nouble had given the Three Lions a 2-0 lead, but David Alaba pulled one back for Austria in the 51st minute.
 
However, moments later England won a corner and Cruise drilled home to reinstate a two-goal lead.
 
Germot Trauner pulled one back for Austria with 17 minutes remaining but England held out for victory.
 
The Three Lions' next match is against Netherlands on Wednesday.

Francis Coquelin played 90 minutes but Gilles Sunu was an unused substitute as France Under-19s secured a 4-1 victory over Netherlands on Sunday.
 
It was a fine start to the UEFA Under-19 Championships for Les Bleus and they took the lead 20 minutes in through Gael Kakuta before Cedric Bakambu extended their lead.
 
Jerson Cabral pulled one back for the Dutch 10 minutes after half-time. However, an own goal by Martins Indi effectively ended Netherlands' hopes.
 
Bakambu completed his hat-trick in stoppage time to complete a 4-1 victory for France.
 
Les Bleus take on Austria in their next match on Wednesday.
