An Arsenal Under-18s side reached the final of a tournament held at the Hague in Holland earlier this month.
After topping a group containing Hertha Berlin, Besiktas and Utrecht, they came up against the mighty Juventus in the semi-finals. Arsenal overcame the Italians to set up a meeting with Brazilian side Cruzeiro in the final, but narrowly went down to a 2-1 defeat, losing on the final kick of extra time.
"That was a good tournament for us," said Assistant Academy Director David Court. "We had 10 of our first years involved in the team, so we were playing a year under the age group basically.
"The likes of Armand Traore and Mark Randall, who both travelled with the first team to Austria during pre-season, were involved, so they've had a great last couple of months."Copyright 2016 The Arsenal Football Club plc.
