Young defender Daniel Boateng has agreed a contract extension with the Club.

The 19-year-old, who can play at both centre-back and right-back, has been a regular in the Reserves since the start of the 2010/11 campaign, with 25 appearances to his name so far.

Daniel’s second string performances were rewarded with a first team debut in October, when he replaced Thomas Vermaelen for the final six minutes of the 2-1 Carling Cup Fourth Round win over Bolton Wanderers.

The Enfield-born youngster joined the Gunners’ Hale End academy aged 11 and signed professional terms in July 2010. He was captain of the U19s side to reach the Semi-Finals of this year’s Dallas Cup in Texas.

Everyone at Arsenal Football Club looks forward to Daniel’s continued progress in the coming years.
