Arsenal Reserves lost to partner club Colorado Rapids 1-0 in a friendly match on Tuesday afternoon.

It was the first fixture of the MLS side's pre-season but they defeated Neil Banfield's team 1-0 at the Club's training centre.

The Gunners' second string started with a strong XI including striker Sanchez Watt who has recently returned from a loan spell at League One side Southend United.

Francis Coquelin, Emmanuel Frimpong and Craig Eastmond were also in the starting line-up but the Gunners fell behind in the 52nd minute when Conor Casey tapped in from an Omar Cummings cross.

Banfield took advantage of the friendly match to fully utilise his squad and changed the entire outfield XI on the hour mark. The likes of Cedric Evina, Benik Afobe and Rhys Murphy all played the final half hour of the fixture.

Arsenal Reserves team in full: Shea, Coquelin (Byles, 60'), Ayling (Evina, 60'), Miquel (Boateng, 60'), Cruise (Obed, 60'), Henderson (Yennaris, 60'), Eastmond (Edge, 60'), Frimpong (Ozyakup, 60'), Barazite (Aneke, 60'), Freeman (Afobe, 60'), Watt (Murphy, 60')
