Chuks Aneke has extended his loan spell with Stevenage FC until March 6, 2012.

The 18-year-old midfielder joined the League One side in November on an initial two-month deal.

But having helped the ‘Boro climb into the play-off positions in his five league appearances to date, Aneke will now stay on for a further five weeks where he will be looking to impress new boss, Gary Smith.

Prior to the loan move, Chuks was a key fixture of Neil Banfield’s Reserves set-up, scoring four times in seven appearances this term. In an eventful few months for the youngster, he also made his first-team debut in September’s 3-1 Carling Cup victory over Shrewsbury Town as a last-minute substitute. He signed a new contract in June 2011.

The England youth international, who is playing alongside former Gunner Luke Freeman at Broadhall Way, will not be eligible for Stevenage’s FA Cup Fifth Round tie with Tottenham Hotspur.

Everyone at Arsenal wishes Chuks the best of luck during his continued stay with Gary Smith’s team.
