Benik Afobe scored his second goal of the Under-19 European Championship - but it was not enough to prevent England from suffering a semi-final defeat to Greece after extra time.

The powerful striker was involved heavily throughout but could do little to prevent the Young Lions from crashing out in the final four against the 10-man Greeks.

It was Afobe who won England a penalty on the stroke of half time after being brought down by goalkeeper Stefanos Kapino - but Rob Hall saw his spot-kick saved by the substitute keeper.

By this point Noel Blake's youngsters were already a goal down after Mavroudis Bougaidis' header just seven minutes beforehand.

England did make their one-man advantage count after the break, however, as Afobe levelled from close range after good work from Hall.

But despite applying heavy pressure for the remainder of the second half, the Young Lions could not find a way through in normal time.

And they were made to pay in extra time as Charalambos Lykogiannis found the net with a lob over goalkeeper Samuel Johnstone.
