Benik Afobe was an unused substitute as England Under-19s booked their place in the semi-finals of the Under-19 European Championship with a 2-1 win over France in Tallinn on Monday night.

The young striker had scored in his nation's previous win over Serbia but was not called upon on this occasion as Noel Blake's youngsters recorded victory.

Everton's John Lundstram fired England ahead inside 16 minutes but France levelled on the half hour through Jordan Veretout.

The Young Lions fought hard, however, and restored their lead eight minutes later through striker Harry Kane.

That was enough to see England through to the final four, where they now face Greece on Thursday.
