Philip built on a solid debut season in Arsenal's Under-18s by making inroads into the reserves.
By the end of the campaign he had made two appearances for Neil Banfield's second string, scoring as a second-half substitute in their 3-0 win over Wolves in February.
The powerful striker also led the line for the youth team, playing predominantly as a lone striker. Philip finished as the team's top goalscorer with 10 strikes to his name, and his hold-up play and awareness of others provide a great deal of encouragement for the future.
Next season the 18-year-old will be keen to establish his place in the reserves and continue his exciting development.
“I am here and doing what I can to secure a professional contract with Arsenal and my focus is to give everything. I also want to play regularly for the reserves. I am playing well at the moment but my aim is to continue to improve and do well with Arsenal. My hope is that everything else will follow.”
Philip had barely been on the pitch for 20 minutes before hitting a late brace against Chelsea to help the Under-18s to a 3-0 victory over their local rivals at Cobham.
