It's easy to understand why Steve Bould has been so impressed with this season's first-year scholars - and Anthony Jeffrey is one reason.
The young winger has been a consistent performer in the Under-18s, building on his eight appearances for the youth team while still a schoolboy the previous campaign.
With six goals to his name, Anthony has proved himself as a threat at the sharp end of the field. But while finding the net has been a bonus, his unselfish wide play has helped lay on assists for others too.
The 17-year-old has featured heavily on the left wing but is equally comfortable on the right or up front. A promising year for the intelligent speed merchant.
SOUNDBITE
“I know what I put in on the training pitch will improve my game and help me get to my target of playing for the first team. I have belief in my ability, but I know it will not just come to me. I come from Mill Hill and have always been an Arsenal fan, even before I joined the Club when I was nine."
FINEST MOMENT
Anthony's excellent goal against Charlton in October takes the plaudits. Picking the ball up out wide, the youngster cut inside before unleashing a fierce effort into the top corner to give Arsenal the lead.
