On the game of two halves…
“I think in the first half I was a bit disappointed but I do think West Brom played well before the break. We stepped it up in the second half and we ended up having a good performance.”

On the problems before the break…
“Maybe it was end of season blues with one or two. Maybe there were one or two eyes on the big games coming up so they were a little bit sloppy. Not passing it quickly enough and getting caught on the ball a bit.”

On his half-time team talk….

“I told them to play the ball quickly and hit the front players a bit earlier. Obviously the pitch today was a bit firm and bobbly. Although we want to play football all the time sometimes you have to play the pitches. Today I said hit the frontmen, work off them and generate a bit more movement. Their movement was poor first half but I think second half they did a lot better.”

On West Brom’s first-half penalty…

“I’ve got no complaints at all. Kyle should have dealt with it a lot earlier than he did but I think it summed up our first-half performance in that one incident. But in the second half we stepped it up and we looked the side that they are.”

On Vito Mannone’s performance between the sticks…
“Vito’s the senior player of the team and he’s done well again tonight. He’s made a good penalty save and turned in a good all-round performance. “

On what’s next for Reserve Team topscorer Mark Randall…

“Next for Mark is to work hard during the pre-season, impress the manager and maybe go out on loan next season for his development. They need the next step, they have about 18 months at this level and then they need to go and play at the sharp end. That goes for people like Nacer Barazite, Gavin Hoyte and Henri Lansbury too.”

On Jay Emmanuel-Thomas’ scoring cameo appearance…
“It’s up to Jay where he wants to play. He does catch the eye but there is another part of the game that you have to do. Jay’s got to come to terms with that and I’m sure he will. As I said, it’s wherever he wants to play.”

On the FA Youth Cup and League Finals…
“At this level they’re really big. It’s fantastic for what they’ve achieved and it’s a credit to everyone involved with the Academy. Hopefully they’ll end the season on a high.”
