on the performance…
I look forward to the games where you have a sprinkling of experienced players in the side, because that is how reserve-team football used to be. It used to be that the older, more experienced guys would help the talented younger players, and that is how it was tonight.

on their opponents…
It was a good Reading side, who played some experienced players such as Jason Roberts and Adam Le Fondre. It was a good test for our two centre halves. You're always looking at what the opposition are like, and Reading put a strong side out with three or four players who have been around the first team, so that makes this a good result. Any win is a good win.

on Sagna's comeback…
I thought he was excellent. I like him, he trained with us a few times last week and he is one of those guys who plays with a smile on his face. He works hard, does his job and does it for the team. I thought he did really well.

on Wilshere and Frimpong…
Both did well. Jack got more minutes on the pitch than he did last week, while Manny got through it as well, so that was good to see.

on Gnabry's display…
[His performance] comes from the benefit of playing with more experienced players. When you make runs, they tend to find you a bit earlier; and also when you are in with that quality of player, you want to show them that you are a good player too. I thought for an hour he was very good.

on the main positives…
We played with patience but penetration, which you are always trying to get. You want to be in a situation where you pass it with purpose, and that purpose is to try to create goalscoring situations. At times, we did that in this game.
