on the performance…
I am pleased with the overall team performance, I thought they worked extremely hard. They worked for one another, and it is always pleasing when you see a good team effort. Although two of the goals came from penalties I thought we had enough chances from open play, particularly in the second half. We hit the post, made their goalkeeper make saves and might have done better in one or two other situations. I thought it was probably a fair result.

on working hard…
Everton defended well, they came here and put numbers behind the ball. We had to be very patient and work hard for any openings that came. But that is the nature of the game and what you have to do - keep plugging away. I thought the build-up for the first goal was excellent, a good ball in and Nico [Yennaris] has got in between the lines to play another forward ball for Jernade Meade to win the penalty. In the second half Jernade got in two or three times behind their right side and showed what a good player he is.

on a strong second-half display…
I thought that they showed a lot of patience and composure to keep the ball in the first half, without creating too many chances. But in the second half, Everton had to come out a little bit more to try and press us and we got a few more openings.

on the scoreline…
I think it was a fair result if you look at the number of chances and goalmouth situations. It was a fair result, yes.

on another night of positives…
There were lots of good performances, none less so than James Shea who made a great save at 1-0. That is important and he has done that two or three times now. He is an excellent shot-stopper and every time he has played for us now he has come in and done well. Sometimes they get forgotten in the 3-0 wins but I thought James was excellent.
