On the 2-1 defeat...
"I thought it was a good game, a good pre-season friendly against very good opposition. I think AFC Wimbledon will do very well in the Conference this year. We played well in the first half and we had some very good chances. Wellington had a great chance, Daniel Boateng had a good chance with a header and Ozyakup hit the crossbar. We probably deserved to go in at half time leading."

On the second-half performance...
"We had to make a few changes and I thought that disrupted the team a bit and we gave two soft goals away early in the second half. But to be fair to the boys they kept going until the end. Wimbledon are a good side with a lot of pace in their side and all-in-all it was a good pre-season friendly."

On Benik Afobe...
"I thought Benik played ever so well, he is going to be a really good player and he deserved his goal. It was a well-taken goal."

On the delayed kick-off...
"It wasn't ideal but the lads were stuck on the M25 for two and half hours. A journey that normally takes 90 minutes took about three and a half hours. That wasn't ideal preparation but there is nothing we can do about that. It's one of those things."

On if the players are ready for the new season...
"The Under-18s are doing well. They are a very young side and I think it will take Steve Bould a little bit of time to get them into a really good unit. I think the Reserves are ready. I think we have a lot of players in the first-team squad at the moment and they will be available for Neil Banfield when they come back.

"We have a good tournament in Dublin coming up where we will play Manchester United Reserves and Shamrock Rovers [the Platinum One Challenge] and after that we should be ready for the season."
