on the performance…
It was really pleasing. First of all I would like to say that the senior lads had a fantastic attitude and were really good professionals. I think the young lads took a lot out of the game tonight.
on benefits of including senior players…
Without a doubt [it was helpful]. They show what good professionals they are by their application to the game. They came here with a reason and a purpose to get 90 minutes under their belts and everyone has got something out of it. Overall it was a really good day.
on the most pleasing aspect…
I think the general attitude of everybody was excellent, as well as the application to pass it and work hard. The general work ethic that we have here overall [is pleasing].
on a third clean sheet in a row…
I think the young defenders are looking like really good prospects, they are doing themselves no harm at all. They are young, learning the game and three clean sheets on the spin is a testament to the work that has gone in.
on a five-goal haul…
Obviously Norwich had a very young side out and one or two of them will learn from this game, but of course we are happy with five goals.
on Chamakh's injury…
Marouane had a bad toe coming into this one but to be fair to him he wanted to give this game a go. But he could only last for half an hour and he had to come off.
on Afobe and Jenkinson returns…
Carl was also planned to play 45 minutes and also Benik Afobe, so everybody has come through OK. Marouane will be alright, it is just a bad toe I think at the moment.
It is always nice to see young players returning that have had nasty injuries. It is good for those two because they might get one or two throughout their careers and they can deal with it if they have been there before. It is not nice but it is great to see them back.
on Afobe's goal…
It is always nice to see someone score in his first game back so we are pleased all around.
