On the 4-3 victory over Blackburn Rovers...
"It was a good game. I think this is what we have been expecting and I think it is definitely a move forward for the Reserve League. It was a tough game tonight, like at Bolton [two weeks ago] when it was even-stevens for the first 20 minutes and then we got ourselves in front and have gone on from there. Tonight we showed good character. We conceded two goals and scored a terrific individual goal and got ourselves back into the game. But we always felt we could make some chances and hopefully take them."

On the make up of the starting XI...
"For the first-team lads it was their first game for a while and we had the youngsters who are trying to impress. Overall I am pleased with everybody."

On coming from behind twice...
"They showed spirit and that is what the Club is all about and they have been brought up with that spirit. It shows that they never give up and they want to win every game."

On next week's trip to Manchester City...
"We take each game as it comes and we are playing some really good sides in Bolton, Blackburn and Manchester City. I'm really looking forward to seeing how the season pans out."

On the FA Youth Cup win over Manchester City two seasons ago...
"I was at that game and next week's will be a good, hard game again. That is what these young players need. I think the old format of the Reserve League was getting a bit stale and they have tried to bring it back to life and I think they have succeeded."
