on the 3-1 victory over Wigan…
It’s the style of football I’m delighted with. We went behind and didn’t start too brightly, but we came back with some good spirit, worked our way back into the game and I think there’s a lot of maturity in this team. Overall I’m really pleased.

I think we could have done slightly better; in possession we were a bit slow. I just told them to pick their game up 10 to 15 per cent, as well as a couple of small tactical things we changed and overall it ended up a good footballing performance.

on Ryo’s performance…
Ryo came into the game well. Obviously he hasn’t played for a while and he’s been travelling a lot, so you have to give him a little bit of time to settle in. But I think we saw in the second half that we gave him the ball a bit more and he managed to find a lot more space for himself. You can see what he can deliver when he’s really on song.

on a good team performance…
It’s all very much about the team – the team wins the game. That’s what Arsenal is all about, it’s the team philosophy. It was a great team performance.

This is the way the manager [Arsène Wenger] wants to play, with 4-3-3. We try and replicate the first team so that when they go in it’s as seamless as can be. Obviously the pace of the first team game is something they have to get used to, but right through the club we try and use that mentality.
