On a pleasing win…
It was a really good performance. We took our time a little bit to get going, it started off a bit like a training game but when they realised that it was a competitive game they worked their way into the game and in the second half scored three good goals.

On playing at London Colney…
There were a lot of plusses. I felt it lacked a little bit of atmosphere. Normally we’re at Barnet with a night atmosphere and crowd and it was lacking that - but they’ve got to get used to it. We’ve got four or five games here and the players looking forward to it.

On Jay Emmanuel-Thomas’ hat-trick…
I don’t usually get into the habit of talking about individual players but when the lad has created one and scored three he’s had a good game. But I think a few others did as well.

On whether some of his players can push into the Carling Cup squad…
The manager will look at it. We’ve got two big games against Shakhtar and then Manchester City at the weekend so he will focus on them and then he will decide who he will use after [the Manchester City game].

On the size of the jump from the Reserves to the Carling Cup…
It is a big jump. The games we’re playing at Reserve level is better than we were playing last year. Though it is nowhere near what it is like in the Carling Cup with the atmosphere and the tension surrounding the game.

On whether he feels some of his team would be ready if selected…
I think a few of them have sampled it already and it’s up to them. They work to get their opportunity and how they react when they actually play you never know. They’re doing really well.

On whether they can take inspiration from Henri Lansbury…
Henri’s gone to Tottenham and scored - he’s got his chance and taken it.  Hopefully he will get another opportunity and it’s up to them to be ready and take it. Hopefully some of them might get the call.
