On the game…
I thought it was a really good game. I thought we shaded the first half but second half Man City played very well. I think overall a draw was a fair result.

On having lots of possession…
Yes we did have a lot of possession but I think tactically Man City set out really well and that’s the way they played. I said to the boys that you’re going to come up against that. You’ve got to understand it and you’ve got to know the way to work around it. It was a really good enjoyable game.

On Manchester City breaking with pace...
We let them have the ball and they broke very quickly. Man City worked at their game, worked at their game plan and I thought it was a smashing game all round.

On whether he was happy at half time…
No I wasn’t because I thought we’d moved the ball too slowly. I think against teams that are going to sit back and let you have the ball you’ve got to move it quickly and get them moving around. I was disappointed with the pace we moved the ball around and I think some of our players were showboating a little bit. They were told in no uncertain terms that they’ve got to move the ball quickly.

On whether that changed in the second half…
Yes it did but to be honest I thought Manchester City had a few chances as well second half. It could have gone either way so overall as I said I think a draw was a fair result.

On Jay Emmanuel-Thomas’ goal…
Jay’s got that ability in him to pull something out like that and he’s done it again for us tonight.

On whether he is enjoying the away games in the north…
Yes it's great. I think this has been a breath of fresh air. You come to Manchester City and we’ve been well looked after. We’ve been up to Bolton in our first game and we really enjoy coming up.

On positives from the game…
Maybe not so much a positive but I think I realised a bit of tactical naivety. You know they really didn’t sort out how Manchester City were playing and if they are going to play at the top level they’ve got to have players who say 'right this is our plan, this is how we’re going to play'. It shouldn’t take some instructions from the side: at the level they want to play at they should be able to work it out for themselves.
