on the performance…
I thought it was arguably the best we have played this season over a complete game. We passed it well and showed patience at times, and were always trying to get that penetration and people into positions where they could Everton a problem. In the first half we might have had four or five goals.

on their response to going on down…
That came from a situation that sometimes happens. We were trying to play, there was a poor touch and we were caught in possession and they got a goal from it. But we want to do that - you just have to make sure your touch is better and you are aware of where the space is and don't make that mistake again. Credit to them, they did that, they kept playing and were trying to do the right things and got their rewards.

on Thomas Eisfeld's brace…
He can score! He is a very intelligent player and finds space well. When he gets opportunities in and around the box he very rarely disappoints. He is intelligent and technically he is good. He puts those two qualities together and if he gets enough of the ball then he can cause a problem.

on the physical nature of the game…
Everton had four or five players who would be in and around their first-team squad, Hibbert, Vellios, Hitzlsperger, Lundstram and Junior. They will arguably play for Everton this year, so it was a good competitive game but we controlled it throughout.

on facing Marseille in the NextGen Series…
We know it is going to be a difficult game. Several of the boys who play here will be involved in that match [on Thursday], so for them it is a learning process about not just playing games, but good recovery and getting ready for the next one.
