on the overall performance…

I'm really pleased. Obviously it's a new squad and we have seen the involvement of the younger lads coming into the team and it bodes very well for the future. I was delighted with the performance.

You can see what the Club have produced and it's testament to the hard work that is going on within the Club, from the people who find the players and get them in to the hard work that Steve Bould has done. It shows what a strong Club we are.

on the most pleasing aspects…

We know that we want to play but I think it was our closing down and our pressing, both individually and collectively, that I was really delighted with.

It was a real first-class performance all-round. We played with patience and a few things that we have worked on at the training ground over the past few months they are now looking to grasp.

on securing a clean sheet…

It's always nice not to concede for the defenders but as I said to them in the team hotel beforehand, we attack as a team and defend as a team. But it was pretty pleasing.

on Thomas Eisfeld's debut…

I am delighted with young Thomas. He was a little bit nervous as he doesn't know anybody, but he has settled in great. At half time we decided to take him off - he got a little knock on his knee, so there was no need to take any chances. He had a good 45-minute run out.
